But some surgeons and clinics have policies that set the age limit at seventy, but the only reason for it is that the older you get, the slower your recovery process will be, no matter what kind of surgery you are undergoing. Also, with age, the list of possible surgery complications becomes a bit longer, which is why some surgeons decide to put an age limit on surgeries in general. But overall, there is no real age limit for bariatric surgery.

So according to age, people like to talk about age, there really is no limitation on age, however, we like to have a cut-off between seventy and eighty years old, and if you are a candidate for the surgery, then you should be fine, but we would like to limit, in our practice, someone that is above seventy years old to have weight loss surgery.
