For people who had gastric sleeve surgery but needed to have a revision, there is a secondary option called Single Anastomosis Duodenal-Ileal Bypass (SADI). Dr. Choi provides his insights about this new procedure SADI.
What Is the Newest Procedure in Bariatric Surgery?
In the future there will be a fourth surgery in my opinion that will become very famous and it will be called the Single Anastomosis Duodenal-Ileal Bypass. Why will this become popular in my opinion is because it would be for patients who have had gastric sleeves and have failed and now need to have a revision. Although the protocol now is to have a sleeve and convert it into a bypass, you won’t get as much weight loss with the bypass but you will get a significant amount of weight loss with the Single Anastomosis Duodenal-Ileal Bypass or what they call today SADI.
